Building a new gaming rig

Ive got around £1500 to build myself a new Rig, I am really out of touch with hardware these days so I thought I would post the specs on here in hope that a nice hardware guru would be able to offer me some insight and make sure I'm not buying anything sub standard. The PC is designed for gaming and also music production (I have a super duper soundcard I will be adding to this).

Thanks for the replies guys.

I bought the 1900XT as reccomended as it was a good price on the "this week only" and also a Antec Sonata 2 case which includes a 450w psu seems like a very good deal.

My main concern now is buying the CPU/RAM/Motherboard combo, say I can afford the 4400+ and want 2 gig of ram, what type of ram do i need and what type of motherboard? I'm very confused when it comes to the RAM as there are so many different types these days.
