Hello!

I've just joined these forums and hope to learn a lot!

I know a few basics about computers and have built my own system and others computers before BUT i've not built one that leans more towards rendering, by this I mean using autocad, 3DS Max etc.

I am struggling to decide on what motherboard I should get coupled with which processor, lets say I have upto £300 for each item and a further £300 for memory etc, I'd be so greatful for advice on what would serve me best.

I've got an antec P182 case and a OCZ GameXStream 850w power supply to start with.

There are plenty of 'Check me spec' threads mate which will give you plenty of help.

I have just built a PC for my bro using:-
Asus P5k mobo
E4300 C2D
Tuniq 120 CPU cooler
2GB Geil DDR2-PC6400C4
400GB Samsung SATAII
Pioneer SATA DVD re-writer
Asus 19" widescreen monitor
Case
Keyboard & mouse
Windows vista 64bit home premium
Corsair 520W PSU
Sapphire 1950Xpro 512MB gfx

All for about £700 + VAT from OCuk

Went togeather a dream and clocked to 3.2Ghz no problem.

Now if you already have case, psu, an OS and hard drive, I would upgrade the gfx to a 8800 GTS 640MB flavour mate.

I now MUST upgarde mine to the new P35 chips and get some more clocking cream from my e6600!! Very gutted his is only .2Ghz slower than mine!
