I need some help on building a Quad Core System with a 8800gts 640mb card.

I am just wondering if someone can give me a list of parts for a system what would cost around £700 to build, £800 to build or £900-£1000 to build, remember that these systems must include a Quad Core Processor and a 8800GTS 640MB card.

For future reference, thanks for your help much appreciated.

Cheers,
Sam.

So you want 3 specs, one for each of those budgets?

If possible, yes. I don't know how much I am allowed yet because my dad is getting 6k for 6days work over christmas so I think it will be around those prices just need to know what I have to get when i am told how much i am allowed so there is no messing around trying to find parts to buy.

Sorry if you can't understand it, I just quickly typed it because i'm in a rush lol.

Well, if you aren't going to be putting it together for roughly 3 months, getting a spec with todays prices/technology doesn't exactly seem the best idea. Maybe best to wait until December before you start deciding what you think is best.
This is just my opinion btw and not trying to influence you at all, just offering some advice.

Cheers for that mate, the only 2 things i will change if I got that spec you done is change the graphics card to a ATI Sapphire 2900 pro 1gb and put a asus p5k mobo in, I changed my mind on the graphics card because it is as good and £10 cheaper.

No thats a waste of money, if your going to be spending that much on a GPU go for the 8800GTS 640 version.

The 1GB of Memory on the HD2900XT is just a gimmick, performance is certainly not improved by much and you would be far better going for a better card.

So the 8800GTS 640 is better then the 2900 because I was thinking of getting either the 2900 Pro or the 8800GTS 640 so I was thinking right that the 8800 is the better out of the 2 cards.

go for the BFG mate, the 10 pound difference is worth it, the 8800gts' are fantastic in my opinion.
