ye all the components are compatiable but could somenody please confirm the PSU will provide enough power and that the X1800XT comes with a power cable as the PSU will not have the 6pin connector required for PCI-x cards.

The motherboard will take ide drives ok yes ?

Yes, IDE is the default drive connector. SATA drives are newer technologies which have yet to become standard.

That looks a fairly decent set-up there, the only possible difference may be going for 2GB Kit of the OCuk Value RAM (2x1GB) rather than the 1GB kit, purely because you would see a big benefit during video editing and encoding.

Other than that this is a fine system.

Put the hard drive with XP on as boot device 1

not to sure about the dvd drives, i think putting master as top, and the second drive on the ide as slave will be ok.
