Yeah my plan is to start buying bits like the ram,case,psu etc and leave the cpu and card til jan and hopefully catch the first lot of Ati cards and maybe a small fall in price on the duo,due to the quads coming in 2 weeks time.

If you're going to do that just buy things that don't go up and down too much. Cases usually.

I wouldn't buy bits months before you finished the PC, as things like HD, RAM and CPU usually go down quite a bit.

It's a bad time to buy RAM also.

The only thing I can perhaps see going up in price from now till then is the RAM. Just put the money in the bank - 6 weeks in computing can save a fair few pennies.

ok for case and PSU though, they really don't go down that much. I bought my PSU and case 1-2 months before finishing off the system.

Yeah well what i actually plan to buy b4 xmas was the mobo,case,psu,fans and maybe hard drives that leaves the things that i am most likely to get a better deal on after xmas.

So with all that said the system set up i have planned looks good?
