Hi guys new to the forum and looking for a bit advice.
Im building a new PC/Media Center using the following components -
Thermaltake VE2000SWA Armour LCS Super Tower - Silver

BFG 800W UK/PFC Approved PSU

Asus Striker Extreme nForce 680 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT12864AA1065)

BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 320MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)

Samsung SpinPoint T HD401LJ 400GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM

Hauppauge WinTV HVR-3000 Freeview TV Tuner

LiteON LH-20A1P-487C 20x DVD±RW x12 Ram Dual Layer DVD-Writer - Retail

Microsoft Remote Keyboard for Windows XP Media Center Edition - OEM

My question is the motherboard seems to be a bit pricey, is there another which would do the same job at a more pocket friendly price and would the memory still be ok for the suggested board ?It would have to have the dual PCI-E as i hope to add another graphices card at some point.
The reason i ask is because the price of the build seems to be getting a bit out of control.
It will be used mainly for playback of HD/BLURAY content but i would also like to play the occasional game.
Thanks for the advice.

The ASUS Striker board is great but as mentioned the ASUS P5N-E will do the same job so you may to go for that as its cheaper... Again with the PSU change to a Corsair HX... 520watts will be more than enough unless you want to go for the 620watts to be future proof. Your going to need a Blu-ray/HD-DVD drive too if your planning to play movies... unless your doing the unthinkable and downloading them illegally

Cheers guys ive taken your advice and changed the PSU to the corsair HX 620w (gets a great review) and also thinking of changing the motherboard to this bundle which will save me around £100 and seems more geared towards a media pc, whats your thoughts?
