Building a new system - which card?

I'm building myself a new system and I'm torn to which graphics card to get...

I've decided I'm going to get a top of the line mobo (Atleast i think it is?) and take an acceptable graphics card which will easily last upto DX10 cards are over thier teething stage...so reading around the forums I have come up with:

ATI Radeon X1900 ***Crossfire/Master Edition*** 512MB GDDR3 (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-045-CO)

---or---

Connect3D ATI Radeon X1900 XT 256MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-053-CO)

I'm probably not going to go dual card (can't afford it) so I would only be buying the one. Will the cheaper x1900xt work ~aswell or is it worth investing in the master card?

Also is connect3d a good make? My last purchase was an ASUS graphics gforce card and all its done is cause me problems - leading me to resort to making a new system!

All suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance

I play 1280x1024 with a X1900XT 256MB and its awesome. On my resolution, there's absolutely no point in running in Crossfire, and therefore you'll be wasting your money on a crossfire compatible card if you're not intending to use it.

well i ordered the HIS X1900XT Crossfire / Master 512mb Edition today - ill use it as a single card until i get paid again where ill ditch the AMD mobo and get one thats compatible for Crossfire - then ill buy a slave X1900 card and be done with it
