Hi I'm more of a retro vintage computer person so I'm not clued up on new hardware. I got fed up with my PS3 over heating and I want better graphics so I thought why not build a PC for GTA 5. I'm more into my car games plus I don't mind playing a few shooting games but that is about all I play.

Grand Theft Auto 4 & 5 are the main games I play.

I understand anything from a quad core with 8 GB of RAM is reasonable for GTA 5. I don't want to spend to much money... then there is the GPU. What graphics card would be the best performance for value?

Thanks

Even an RX 550 can play GTA 5, so it really depends what kind of detail level / resolution you want to play at. Do you have anything left unused like an old Radeon?

If it is any help, my GTX670 plays GTA5 reasonably but with compromises. 720p resolution. Customised medium graphic settings with maxed vehicles, maxed draw distance, etc.

It’s on an equally old i5-3550k CPU overclocked.

If you want cheap and new, you might get away with integrated graphics E.g. Intel XE . Can look at a cheap GTX later.

Another option is : https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sapp...ddr6-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-39s-sp.html

(Flame shield on) reading reviews it’s just about ok for the money if running on the latest pcie 4.0 (/shield off)

Final option is second hand market.
