right, i'm looking to spend around £400 on a custom build system. i will be using this system for;
- general office use (word, excel etc.)
- programming (notepad+, netbeans ide)
- graphic design (photoshop/fireworks cs5)
- web browsing

what kind of spec could I get for £400 which would be able to manage with the simple tasks listed above?

Hello and welcome to the forum.

To help get you a better system, do you have any of the following: monitor, keyboard, mouse, OS, sata hdd/dvd drive(s), Psu(if so, what make,model and wattage is it), Gpu or case.

I have a monitor, keyboard and mouse, os (windows 7 ultimate 64 bit) already - thanks!

Are you looking for a pre-built system or components to do your own "custom build system"?

Whichever works out cheapest really, thanks!
