building a PC

oh ok lol ive never had much experiance with ATI tbh
switched :)

Total : £693.09
thats with the shipping VAT and a stupidly expensive screen ;)

I built my friend a 8800GTS 640MB rig with 4GB of ram for 703 quid, with a monitor no idea how you're getting it that high a price just for office work.

Here it is @ the mo screen not included (ill talk to her about the screen ;) )

That would do nicely I think.

I'm very interested. Do you have the full spec for it?

Whos the noob now nick :P 8500+ ram for an office and a 8600 tut tut lol.

Why dont you get the E2140 processor? they overclock to over 3GHZ anyway. I know you said you dont want to overclock but ive been readin up on loads of guides. Dont look to difficult to be honest nick, im sure youd fly through it.

I also beleive the 5300 ram is just an overclocker 4200? so you could just save money and do it your self.

Btw thx for the boweling. was fun :)

 I DON'T want to know what that was about!

E2140's will sit quite happily at 3GHz+ still cold as anything on the stock intel cooler. Mine will happily do 3.3GHz :)

NP

but no overclocking, at least not on my first build ;) and defo not on my mothers PC o0

maby when i build mine and probualy somtime next year, basicly ill overclock when my PC starts to "lose" performance, if ** getting a stupid amount of FPS otherwise i dont see the point ;)

2GB of DDR ram o0 wtf man i have 2.6GB of DDR ram, plus the CPU needs DDR2 (AFAIK ) and i would never get a PC without 2GB of ram. ever. ;)
The CPU only saves about £20 pounds

And i dont trust that HDD tbh 320 for the same as all the other 250?
the only diff is 0.4 in the ms but that means the make is worse?
if not its a good deal tbh and id be better of getting a cheaper 250gb as thats more than enough for her as has 20GB at the mo ;)

i know lol i went back to the 320GB one ;)

i figure the less i get her to spend on her system the more she can pay towards mine ;) lol (j/k btw david ;) )

yeah ill be doing my system end aug/ begining of september, looking @ quad and GTX of GTS640 (with evega so i can step up to G90's ;) )

Nick You throw to much needless money away. Besides, its true less on her pc means more on yours. Corse... you still wont beat mine because ill be overclocking cpu and gpu :P ull be sitting behind in my trail.

Richard will be overclocking as well, perhaps we could do his first hey ;) hehe. he will be coming round mine with his pc and we build them together as we will be both ordering same time and he hasn't a clue about PC's.

Its a bit stupid really, he bought a pc that i told him not to buy because he wont listern to me. He payed 900 quid for it and 150 quid for the warrenty. he blew the warrenty in a few months and now is replacing everything in the pc (including case) except the 2 hard drives and 3 optical drives. He also pulled the heat sink off the cpu last time i went round his as i was reading a book which said "Do not remove the heat sink once stuck on with thermal paste" hehehe :) was quite funny at the time.
