I plan to upgrade to a 3090 in my main gaming rig at home, which means I'll have a spare 2080 Ti, with the way the market looks it's almost not worth selling so I'm considering building it up into a living room gaming rig for console games and emulators / plex server / something portable. I also have a few other parts kicking about like old SSDs.
Currently my home server is an old 2500K in a full-sized case with a few SSDs and mechanical drives in it. It was my gaming machine something like 9 years ago and has been a real trooper, it's good enough for most things but occasionally struggles with 4K transcodes or multiple streams. :'( It's also in a relatively old full tower ATX case which is not ideal.
Can anyone recommend me a small case / build that could fit a full size 2080 Ti (MSI GAMING X TRIO, watercooled currently but I'd stick the original cooler back on), 3-4 hard drives and a few SSD (NVME). Air cooling but reasonably quiet / ability to power down fans when not under stress.
FWIW I don't especially care about looks, if it has any RGB I'll turn them off. I'm more interested in performance / price / silence.
Thanks for any recommendations!
