I'm using 2 470s so the fans like to rev up to 95% ish.
Using the akasa eclipse 62 case and using too many HDDs to remove the cage, is there anyway of setting up a water loop with just the graphics cards? If so, any chance you would spec it for me on OCUK so if it looks achievable by my noob self I can just order it without worry of wrong size fittings?

The option for adding the CPU to the loop would be good too ;)
I have 2 spare 5.25" bays for res & pump, or pump could sit on the base?

Your internal options are a 240mm radiator in the top, needs cutting a hole or buying the top panel for an omega, or a 120mm over the rear 120. If it's a 30mm thick one it'll fit internally with a 25mm fan, though not with a large heatsink. Otherwise I think you're stuck putting radiators outside the case. Personally I moved the hard drives out of my eclipse to fit radiators in the front.

A pump will fit behind the hard drive cage comfortably. I think a 120mm radiator will cope with two 470s, but they're unlikely to run cooler than they do at present. Quieter shouldn't be an issue though.

One 120.1 will not cope with 470 in sli, i say keep it all external, put a 120.3 radiator stand and all a decent thick 120.3 radiator.

After googling the case surely a dual rad in the roof (some modding required) would be ample for the sli'd 470's. I use a dual for a pair of GTX 280's and temps are fine. A little modding of the case would be required I think to get it to fit but it dosnt look as though it would be to hard.

I dont mind a rad outside the case too much, I know the akasa is small when water cooling is fitted.
I am however tempted to get the 800D...

I notice the Fractal Design R2 has WC holes on the top & rear edge.
Would a 120.2 rad fit in the top? & would that give sufficient cooling for both 470s?

No 1 im getting my 800d today. Its an awesome case buddy. Get one. You could watercool to your hearts desire with one of those cases. I managed to get 2 dual rads mounted internally inside my antec 1200 for neatness so modding most cases is relatively easy if you think long and hard about how you are going to do it.

I just finished the same kinda setup as you have described.
TBH I would use a 360 radiator for 2 470s or at the very least an excellent double. A single fan rad will not do the job. My cards are sitting at 34 idle, 55 load with 2 ek waterblocks and a 360 rad inside the case. There is no point in an LCS if you dont drop the temps a good whack. PS my rad was 32 pounds (EK coolstream 360) from ocuk and isnt half bad. Mounted outside it would even drop a degree or two more. Good luck and let us know how you get on
