Hello, just getting a second opinion on this.

I emailed a local gaming shop for what kind of gaming computer they could build me for a budget of around £500 and they replied with:

Intel i3
8gb DDR3 high speed ram
Sata 3 500gb hard drive
Dual layer +/- optical drive
Nvidia 550TI graphics
Windows 7 64bit Premium
Foxconn case and power supply

This is the best combination (bang per buck) for your budget

At £599 is the same system BUT with the Intel 2500k I5 (THE best value processor on the planet)

Is this a good setup to go for and should I buy it? Or could I get anything better?. Mainly want it for playing multiple World of Warcraft games, my old computer (built by them few years ago) was a good machine but if I try to open up 3 games on it it just crashes, maxes out the CPU and gives me lower FPS.
So been looking for an upgrade powerful enough to do multiple games while browsing the net etc with no issues.

That power supply is a no no!
We can spec you a system for that money if you feel like building it youself? its quite easy.

Self build it for maximum bang for buck.

When you mention playing WoW multiple times do you mean multiboxing? I've no experience at that but I'd guess you would want a quad core (sure someone said WoW is single core).

Might want more RAM too, unless you launch each WoW in 32bit mode?

Yeah for multiboxing, i've done it with 2 on low graphics in 32 bit mode (i have 64 bit) and that's fine, but if I try 3 or 4 I just get maximum CPU usage, memory, and crash. Even if I do 2 and browse the web I get lots of freezing.

So would you mind a self build?

I don't mind, always wondered about doing one but never knew the things to buy, or even how to do it. Then if I watched and read the multiple things online with information i'd be worried I make a mistake or screw it up lol.

Whereas a shop usually just charges £50 more for the service of building it on top of the parts, so I went down that route before.

I agree it's demanding running multiple games, but knowing nothing about computers I didn't know if for that budget I could get something that would do it, which Is why i'm asking, but if not then I'll just take a few months more of saving and get something that can. The £500 was just pretty much what I'm nearing so far in saving up for one, but I don't mind waiting longer and once I do have some more, I'll come back and buy from here as already what's been posted looks better stuff :)

If you can come back with £700 - £800 then your lucking at a system which will sniff at WoW and look slightly hungry when BF3 comes along ;)

I assume you already have a PC? You could replace motherboard CPU and ram for well under 500 probably get a nice case and psu to. Then swap out graphics card at a later date

I do, it's the same one I purchased from this shop 3 years ago for £500 for gaming. Not sure how to post the specification and parts this one has, is there a way to get the information up to copy and paste on here?
