Building/Making a website

Hey guys, I've been thinking and wanting to make a website for a very long time so I thought I'd ask if any of you knew a few things about making one, domains and hosts ?

I'd recommend TSO Hosting, as a host.

As in from the beginning?

Register your domain
Choose your host
Buy your package (including whatever functionality you may need like sql or php etc.)
Build your site (perhaps using WordPress if you're a noob)
Upload it the host usually over ftp
Voila

If your new to it your best bet is buying a host that provides cpanel or plain wordpress installation, then make a wordpress site and update it on the site itself. Saves messing with FTP ect and easy to make a good website from the templates.

Have you considered Google Sites?

You'll get a URL like https://sites.google.com/site/USERNAME/home, but you can always have a domain name - e.g. www.SOMETHING.com - forwarded to it.

No PHP/MySQL/HTML/CSS etc. required...

Heart Internet Hosting has always been good for me. I used Joomla the two websites that I made in the past.
