Hello,

Could you people help me out, i want to build a Media Centre 05 PC.

I've currently this available:-
Dual Gigabyte Motherboard but atm the CPU1 Slot doesnt function will replace in future with a Tyran mobo. So running single processor.
Athlon MP 2.8
2GB ECC PC2100 Memory
Adaptec 2x Port SATA PCI Card
120GB 7200.7 Seagate SATA drive
600w Enermax PSU
FX5900XT

Now i want to record TV/Freeview onto my HD, listen to internet radio, Radio1, Classic FM, XTC internet radio etc. Also view all pictures and, my CamCorder footage using my Media PC. I thought about making it my DVD player aswell but with the only output of S-Video, i think it will be less quality than my DVD player.

What parts extra would you recommend ontop of my current setup?

1x Media Centre 2005 £76.32

Thanks very much.

Thers a crazy spec for a MCE PC. I'd consider selling it and using them oney to put propper HTPC components.

Have a look at mATX boards and cases, possibly even ITX.

For MCE you need a graphic card which supports DX9 for al lthe shiney effects to work. Even something as rubbish as a FX5200 would do.

You'll need the remote, and a DVB-T tuner for freeview too.
