ok so my bro has got a bit of money for some of his new pc (as before) .... he wasted the 1st lot because he could'nt buy it all at once...

So i said get a couple of bits and the shiney boxes in your room will only make u wanna get the rest lol.

He wants to go AMD processor (please dont turn this thread into a intel vs amd debate...AMD processor is the choice so focus on that plz) so i told him he cant go wrong with a nice sabertooth 990fx motherboard and he really likes my case (corsair 500r white). So im picking a CPU for him, (i have the fx6100 overclocked to 4.8ghz stable) my bro doesnt want anything to complicated so the standard turbo overclock would be all he wants.

O.K. so the questions :)

1. I know the fx6100 stock of 3.3Gz auto turbo's takes u to 3.9Gz. So does the 3.8Gz of the fx6200 take u much further then 3.9?

2. I see a lot af sites still have this chip on pre oreder... is it coming soon (i.e within 3 months)??

3. Guessing ppl will type a response before answering the last question hehe. I know as it stands at the minute the fx8 series is prob more powerfull but gaming all about GPU and more money saved on build means more money for GPU he just need somethiong that will last him 2-4years...

Thx for any help guys... and again (wish i didnt have to but ppl cant read) no mention of intel builds, thx again

1) That is the spec for the 6200:confused:

2) thought you were still talking about 6100 like the first part of question 1, my bad. ask in the customer services section?

so ok i got that now but my bro has been offered a brand new fx8150 for for £110 (could knock him lower fior good reason maybe). he had a pin missing on the new 1 he got but amd and the company he brought it from both have sent a replaceent a couple of months ago.. yeah i know lucky sod. So do i build my bro a ivy bridge system or the amd? Im thinking that i know the ivybridge is good but I know its not much of an improvement in the sand bridge. yet i obviously know that i5 is awesome but looking at the fact a new ivy bridge i5-3750k is £173 and he can get a fx-1850 prtty ealy clockable to 5ghz im think money better spent in graphics card n stuff like that

ok so we've sorted a lot of stuff now..

amd Fx-8150
H100
Crosair 500r white
OCZ 850w fully modular gold edition
MSI GTX560ti 2Gb version

So he needs some RAM and HDD's

Im not to sure on RAM but looking generally, im thinking 1866 2x4gb of something. Also I believe a lower C rating could benefit him quiet a lot.. that right?...any suggestions?

Also he has money to spend on a normal HDD and a SSD. HDD pretty easy get as he will use for storage but the SSD will be for windows and games and I have no knowledge SSD's ..help lol
