Hi guys,

I've been looking around for pre built systems, but I am told you get more for your money when you build one.

Whilst I've never done this before, I know somebody who does so I can always ask for help if need be. I have picked out the parts I like, but would like the opinion of you guys here if it's not too much trouble.

EDIT: I forgot to mention what I want it for - gaming, predominantly Skyrim but I would like it to run latest games at decent spec.

I've gone for -

Intel Core i5-3450 3.10GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail - £146.99

Sapphire HD 7850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card w/ FARCRY3 & Sleeping Dogs PC Games - £137.99

Asus P8Z77-V LX Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - £84.98

Cooler Master CM-690 II Lite Dominator Case - Black - £62.99

Toshiba (7K1000.D) 1TB SATA 6GB/s 32MB Cache - OEM (DT01ACA100) - £51.98

Patriot Viper "Black Mamba" Generation 3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (PV38G160C9K) - £39.95

Cooler Master Elite Power 500W Power Supply - £32.99

Samsung SH-224BB/RSMS 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black/Silver/Biege) - Retail - £19.99

Total - £599.28

Am I forgetting anything? Is it a good build or can I do better for the price?

Thank you.

Hi, you wont be able to overclock this Intel Core i5-3450 3.10GHz if its something you plan on doing at some point spend a little bit extra and get the unlocked version the 3570K

If you have the money i would throw an SSD in there.

looks good to me.....but i wold go for a better psu i cannot find out the output on the 12volt rails not Evan on Cooler Master web site so maybe or maybe not an old design with most of the power on the 3v and 5v rails ..no good today
go for a 80+ psu as they need to made with good component to get 80+ efficiency also one 12v rail is best
this is only little more the Corsair Builder Series CX 430w Modular '80 Plus Bronze

looking at a online psu calculator your pc will only use 290 watts so 430 watts will be fine ...if you are likely to up grade your hd7850 at a later date it will pay to gett bigger psu to suit now

Changed the i5-3450 to a 3570k because as linwelin said, you can't overclock the 3450. Also substituted some items for cheaper variants, and included a 2GB version of the 7850. The power supply you suggested isn't reliable, so I put in a Corsair 500W for you. The only downside is that the case isn't as good, but in the end you have a better system. :)

yes i agree if its in budget its a good idea ...but have a look at the 2600k its only 26£ more and £10 less than the 3570k overclock as well or better or on less volts and run a little cooler ....so am told

ssd drive yes VERY good but can add later
