Hello guys, im Rob, and im new to OcUK. Thanks for the acceptance.

I'm looking to build my first gaming PC, with a few bits of help from my friends, i think ive got my build to a T. But wanted some opinions from some Pro's and experts in this field before i go ahead with the purchasing.

Here is the spec i have chose.

Processor - CP-337-AM
Motherboard - MB-501-AS
RAM - MY-094-KS
Power Supply - CA-048-CS
Hard Drive - HD-257-SE
Graphics Card - XFX AMD Radeon™ HD 7770
DVD drive - CD-090-LG

If you have any tips or recommendations on changes or tweaks please let me know. Or if you think i need to upgrade on any particular part.

I wont be too high end gaming, but i want about medioca performance. But i understand the more i pay now, the better. Any info is welcome. Any questions fire away.

Thanks for your help guys.
Rob ;)

One tip is not to link to competitors as it won't go down very well with the mods :)

Maybe link to the parts from the OCUK store and you will get some help. :)

It's ok I was just letting you know :)

If you add the items to your basket on here you should be able to share the contents on the forum.

The people in the know will then be able to help you out and take a look over your build. :)

Hi and welcome to the forums, could you provide us with a budget for this machine and all the bits you will require e.g monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, headset, operating system. Providing us with this information will make the process much easier and you will get a better spec to suit your needs.

I would also remove that link to an OcUK competitor as it's in breach of the rules of this here fourm that you argeed to follow when you signed up.

We, Overclockers UK (OcUK) are happy to provide the resources of these forums to responsible individuals without charge. They cost a substantial amount of money to maintain and use considerable amounts of bandwidth which is paid for exclusively by us. As you know OcUK are in the computer hardware business and therefore the promotion of OcUK's competitors is forbidden. Examples of promotion are :-

Posting links to competitors websites
Posting links to reviews that promote competitors
Quoting the names or contact details of competitors
Offering to provide the names or contact details of competitors
Hinting about product availability at competitors and their pricing
Using the forums to notify a member of intent or actual supply of names or contact details of competitors
Listing competitors names, URL's or e-mail addresses in signatures
Listing competitors names, URL's or e-mail addresses in profile
Posting links to or the mentioning of auction sites
Disguising attempts to do any of the above

Graphics card you could go with the following:
GX-069-HS (My preference)
or
GX-184-MS

They have all the same specs of the XFX card and look good.

The reason why you cannot find the XFX card on the OcUK website is that OcUK stopped dealing with XFX a couple of years back due to persistently poor RMA service.

XFX may be good value but their after sales support is not up to Gibbo's high standards.

Personally, I'd recommend this instead, which I'm sure you'll agree is a good deal!
