Building my first PC in screenshots

I always found CPU + Cooler onto mobo before putting it in the case was a lot easier. But heatsinks now are so big it might get in the way, worth a try though.

Yea, can be, and if you CPU cooler has a backplate (ie doesn't just clip onto the mobo like the standard intel cooler does) then you will need to atleast put that onto your board before you put it into the case.

Well am back and as advised CPU and Venom fan is now on ;)

Now I go back and tackle the alignment issue

I am having difficulties with the I/O panel alignment, it does have some spongy sivery material stuck to the back of it is that meant to be removed? or anyone have any ideas?

If its like my asus board the spongy silver material should stay on as its ised as rfi blocker and instead of the horible spring setup that used to be on the back of I/O panels that always got stuck in your usb ports when trying to fit the motherboard

woooah that is a big fan looks like my ninja

nice setup good luck with the rest I had my heart in my mouth when I setup mine!

Ok, considering it's your first build, you did start at 11:45 this morning though ... get a bloody move on ... it's nearly Saturday. :D

Best wishes.

No I didn't get the day off work, but I was allowed to work from hime. However I had the rugrats to look after 6, 5 and 2 years so its been a very interesting day. I won't finish it today as I totally be stop working on it soon.

Same CPU cooler as me, its a beast! Am I right in thinking you *could* put another fan on the other side of it? So effectively a push/pull setup?

Some great components you have there. Good luck on completing this with your audience, especially when they want to start helping!

Bright back and early to retun to building and I just realised that the gaming keyboard wasn't delivered, I have to give OC a call.

Lovely cable management as you can see

try to get all the cables behind the motherboard tray then connect them to the motherboard should help out with the cable management. If you have any cable ties should make it easier. Can you put the hard drives in the other way so the cables Don't stick out?
