Building my first PC in screenshots

I see what you mean good idea, well I powered it on no beeps or funny noises nice breeze from the fans. Can't connect the graphics card to the monitor I need a converter

What do you need? is it a DVI->VGA that you need? didn't your gfx card come with one? I think all the cards that I've ever bought with a DVI output has had a DVI->VGA adaptor.

Yes that what I mean DVI > VGA I was surprised that it wasn't in the box myself, unless one of my kids did stealth manoeuvres on me

you would be surprised how ninja like kids are... happens with my nephews all the time. I am glad i'm only 19 and kids won't be happening for another 10 years :D

oh and the build is looking sweet, the venom cooler looks beast!
Noticed you are from London, where abouts?

No luck on the converter, I don't think it was included. I am going to give OC a call and find out what happened to the keyboard (After checking my order confrimation the keyboard wasn't even added so another mistake on my part).

I live in Greenwich, where abouts are you? come and do the cable management hahah

correct me if im wrong doesn't the monitor come with a dvi cable so you can hook it straight into the graphics card ?

Actually you are kind of right, although the Benq only comes with a VGA cable, obviously you can plug a DVI cable into it, so I don't need a converter, I just need a DVI cable, thanks for that spot man ;)

Put the hard drives in the other way round so the cables can make use of the cable management in that case :)

Run the cables through the back with the plugs on the HDD's facing backwards if possible so all the cables are hidden ^^

Archway, North London.
I haven't even done my first build yet, dont think i can offer much help :o

After having the PSU and mobo installed it's all a matter of plugging things in and you're away. The next pain will be installing all the software.

Well doesn't look like I get to go shop today, I have tided up most of the cables and i have to say looks more tidy, I am now receiving the DRAM_LED lights continuously, tried swapping the memory sticks round and reinstalling the cpu but no change, any ideas anyone?

4 pin speaker makes no warning beeps when I remove the RAM, so not sure what it could be.

Why is the PSU fan side down in that case? Is it designed like that? Is there something to compensate for it?

Yes it’s designed like that, there is a filter to compensate this, in the beginning I put the PSU the wrong way round.

do you have the 8 pin cpu connector pluged into your mobo ? around where the cpu is.

that could be a cause .

I went through toms hardware troubleshooting guide, spoken to OC support and we have come to the conclusion that it could be the motherboard, so I have my RMA confirmation and will post the motherboard today.

No updates today? :(

My weekend was real busy so didn't really get time to work on it, the latest however is that the PC didn't post, I bread-boarded the PC, just connecting PSU, CPU and motherboard, using the 4pin speaker produces no beeps, so I am sending back the motherboard. Not all gloom and doom for you though, here is some images that I didn't get time to upload before to tide you over, I should have taken a image with all the lights and fans on, I guess I upload that when it finally is up and running whenever that be.

A motherboard like you never seen that before
