I have no idea what graphics card I should buy for the new PC I'm building, hopefully for bf3.

so far I've got:
core i5 2500k, not overclocked yet, but soon.
coolermaster V8 cpu cooler
asus p8p67 deluxe
8gb Corsair xm3s, not sure if its 1333 or 1600 :/
800w modular PSU
antec 900 case

I'm looking for a single card at the minute, no idea what to get though!

any ideas would be greatly appreciated :)

I have been looking at them, bit gutted you cant flash them to 6970s anymore lol

ive mainly been looking at:
HD 6950/6970
GTX 560/570/580

ive also, for some reason been looking at the HD 6990 lol

I think you can flash the Toxic 6950 2GB Models don't hold me on that. An 580 would be lovely.

a 580 would be lovely lol

I think what I might do is just wait until bf3 comes out and see what people say about different cards performance on it, then buy the one that sounds the best :)

I have some XMS3 RAM, it's 1600MHz. The only thing is that I had to manually set it to 1600MHz. It defaulted at 1333MHz on my board (in sig.) Just a heads up.

I'd go for the best graphics card I can afford. Or pair of cards, depending on where you stand considering Crossfire/SLI.

yea mine is set to 1333 in the bios like, gonna have a check on the box and make sure before i change it up to 1600 lol

i wanted to go for a crossfire/sli set up, but its gonna cost so much anyway that i thought about a 6990, nearly as good as most cards in crossfire on its own with the bonus of being able to add another one of those at a later date?

gonna have to check my psu could handle that though lol

if youre really not sure and can wait til bf3 beta or release then you should. even though DICE has released the specs for a machine, theres still a lot of speculation as to how the current gen gpus will preform... so really DICE has in a way not released their specs... (if you get what i mean)

but safe bet would be 6950 (confirmed that it will run bf3 at medium) or anything better than that, if its a small res, i think even a 6850 or 6870 can handle med high, but thats only my opinion and thoughts, i stand corrected :)
