Ok. So I've never done this before and I have no clue as to where things go inside a case and how good components are. I've posted on a few forums and spoken to a few mates as to get a few ideas. I've been told this is the best place to get opinions and suggestions on this sort of thing, so that's why I'm here. ;)

My budget is around £600. Although I can go to around £750 at a real push. I don't really want to spend much more than that if I'm completely honest.

So far the build I've come to is this:

I know it needs an OS and a DVD drive. Windows 7 64 bit OEM Home edition is around £70/80? Add around £20 for a DVD R/W drive, so it should come to just over £700 after I've looked around for price comparisons.

Spec looks ok, you have chosen a oem CPU so a cooler would be needed, also have a look at the Antec 100, this is a cheaper updated version of the 300.

Edit, agree with Sk82jack regards the 480.

Why not get a OS and HDD bundle like this?

Also since you've only selected the OEM version of your CPU, you'll need an after market cooler. The retails come with a longer warranty and a fan which will be ok unless you plan to overclock.

I agree with moving onto the GTX 480, although it depends if you will be doing a lot of gaming or not, if not i think the 560ti should be fine, maybe go with this cooler: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-072-AK&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=1395

Based on the fact that he has never built a computer before I would imagine he has no knowledge of overclocking as so spending £40 on a cooler seems a bit excessive. I would say stock is fine for now, or a Corsair A50 for £25-30 (£25 atm:))

Edit: Also, with regards to stulid's spec, you could spend £4 more and get the Asus 480 with 2 free games:p

Go back to the Corsair PSU.. Go with a top brand instead of XFX..
I personally would have stuck with the 560ti too.

The first basket was fine except it needed a cooler and os

Edit:
Sorry thought you had redone the basket. Bear in mind that Stulid is very pro XFX PSUs ;)

I wouldn't go for the 480 is noise is something that bothers you. If it is, then you may want to consider the Gigabyte version with the windforce cooler if budget allows.

I also disagree with Stulid's PSU choice. The corsair is a bit better for about £10 more and has better CS. That's just my opinion

The CX range of Corsair PSU are no where near the same quality as the higher TX/HX/AX range.

the XFX is a quality Seasonic unit.

153 Posts, 1 Friend and that is Stulid.

I think we can count this opinion as biased..

Get the Corsair TX 650W OP. Only 75 Quid and is made by SeaSonic with Corsairs great CS or go with the XFX unit and hope you don't have to RMA :D

Even with his 153 posts, I think he knows more than you:D

I was bored, so re-done it,

Everything is in stock too.

Ok guys, I don't want to multi-quote every post, so I'm just going to reply every couple of replies.

As for the above image, does everyone agree on everything but the power supply bearing in mind my price range. His new check-out is just within my max budget and includes an OS and a DVD R/W drive.

For the Power supply debate, would anyone suggest this? http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-046-OC

The graphics card he suggested is the value range, but I found this for £5 extra, is this any better? Would it provide with better cooling? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-222-AS&tool=3

PLEASE don't buy an OCZ PSU.
InB4Flame but please don't, just buy the XFX/Corsair and move on.

I would switch back to the 560ti. The 480 may perform slightly better but it is last gen and runs a hell of a lot hotter and less efficiently.

Also consider this bundle on TWO

Cant believe I'm having the same PSU debate twice in 3 days with Stulid. Just get the XFX or preferably the Corsair.
