Was about to buy a new PC from competitor removed., but then thought maybe i should buy the parts myself from overclockers and build it myself. But i am scared

It's not hard if you watch a youtube tutorial and read the MB manual when plugging things together..

I did it myself with no experience whatsoever and had no problems.

You might want to ask general hardware for some advice on what bits to buy though.

Part 1. Buy the right bits, posting a spec in General Hardware will help you avoid and snaffu's here.

Part 2. Put it together, I suggest doing it outside the case in a trial run - it's not necessary but it's easier to see if cards, memory etc. are properly in. People can forget that for the first time builder not knowing how hard to push something can be a problem, being able to easily see if it's gone all the way in is a god send.

I'm sure there are youtube videos too - plus the help of General Hardware if you're unsure of anything.

It's easy, stuff only fits where it's supposed to and the GH bods will always be happy to give your list of stuff a once over to make sure it'll actually work.

Don't panic if it doesn't work, either. It happens and it's easily fixed 95% of the time.

Did you ever play with Legos?

If so, you know 85.2% of what you need in order to build your computer competently. The leftover 14.8% can be learned here and on YouTube.

And building your own computer is both rewarding financially and spiritually. You get either a cheaper price for the same performance or a lot more performance for an equal price. And it feels good to build stuff.

The hardest part of putting together a computer (for me) was putting the HDD in the tool-less bay.

I am not a technical person - I am frankly rubbish at PC stuff, as the number of new threads I've created recently will testify.

I've just built a new PC from scratch. That's including relocating it all from one case to a new one and adding aftermarket fan's to the case. I was surprised by how easy it was.

Make sure you've got alternative access to the internet (via a laptop or phone) so that if you get stuck you can stick a post on here. Then take your time and keep the motherboard and case manuals to hand and you'll be fine.

I had the same concerns mario.I needed a new pc but didn't want to pay over the odds on a prebuilt system like ive always done in the past.Read the two stickies at the top of general on choosing parts and building. It's amazing how easy it actually is,just take your time with it.Like others have mentioned if you have any questions just ask here.Good Luck.

some one's going to lose their cherry ;):p

as other answers, it sounds daunting, but you will be amazed, when you realise just how easy it is.
also building your own also gives you way more power and quality hardware than some generic store bought pc.
if you search the general hardware thread, there is some threads on "first builds". have a look as well as youtube etc...

First Build

To OP

Just completed my first build :D

Took Stulid's advice on components
Read the guide on here
Flashed through the MOBO Manual and voila!!!!

Just posted using said build

Just get a Mac...

/runs

How can you say ... ... oh I see what you did there.

As above really, it seems scary and the first one I built was scared but it is pretty much a case of plug things where they fit as tend to only be one place they can fit. Any questions though there is enough people on here to help.
