After posting a couple of questions over the past week I’ve finally decided to take the plunge and build my own pc for the first time.
Parts from my old system I will be using will be;
Antec 900 case, LG GGC-H20L Blu-Ray Reader & HD-DVD ROM Serial ATA Drive and PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk II Series 600w psu. I will be given a AMD 6970 which will do for the time being.
I also have a Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache which I will use as a second drive.
My idea would be to use a ssd for Windows only and my Seagate for games music & films.
So I need a motherboard,cpu,ram and a ssd. My budget is £400 so please spec me !!!!!
I normally have Intel but from what I’ve been reading the AMD’s seem to be nearly as good now.
Games I play are Football Manager 13,Carrier Command, Crysis 2 and Battlefield. Thanks guys

^ I think you meant the 4670K :)

Here's a good AMD option:

YOUR BASKET
1 x AMD Piledriver FX-8 Eight Core 8320 Black Edition 3.50GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail £119.99
1 x Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 AMD 970 (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard £89.99
1 x Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE120BW) £86.99
1 x Patriot Viper "Black Mamba" Generation 3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (PV38G160C9K) £53.99
Total : £362.35 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Space left in the budget for a decent cooler if you need one.

Dont wait too long though as Ram prices are i think due to rise on OcUK from Wednesday morning

I might tell the wife we need to get some new ram lol
