Hey People, im building a new gaming rig, the specs its going to have are the following, any reccomendations or suggestions for different hardware.

XFX nForce 790i Ultra SLI (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard (MB-N790-IUL9)

OCZ 4GB DDR3 PC3-12800C7 1600MHz Intel Extreme XMP (2x2GB) Dual Channel DDR3 (OCZ3X16004GK)

Thermaltake VE2000BWS Armour LCS Super Tower - Black

X3 BFG GeForce 9800 GT OC 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (Running in Tri-Sli)

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

Corsair HX 1000W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CMPSU-1000HXUK)

i Already have the Keyboard,Mouse,Monitor and DVD/Rw

Tell me what you think, or what would be better for around the same price range

get a p45 or x48 board paired with good ddr2, with the money saved get either a 4870x2 or a gtx 280. You dont need a 1Kw PSU for that setup unless there is a large amount of stuff going in the PC not mentioned here. If budget allows get a 9550 over the 6600, although not as important as upgrading the graphics.

Trust me, this spec would walk all over the top one.

Firstly, NForce chipsets are to be avoided if possible (i.e. they suck).

Secondly, that Thermaltake case is heavy, expensive, ugly and has bits of garish plastic all over it. Not good.

Thirdly, DDR3 RAM is pointless and will only come into use with LGA1366 (Core i7)

Fourth, the 9800GT is just a re-badged 8800GT and is old, overpriced and pointless as a result.

Finally, Tri-SLi sucks.

If you want 2x cards still, buy a second 4870 and swap the P45 board for an X48 for Crossfire.
