This will be my first attempt at building a pc. This is what I've come up with so far:

The PC will mainly be used for gaming and my budget is a maximum of £850 but I'd rather stay near the 800 mark. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as I'd rather look a fool on here than waste my money.

yeah it's fine but if you want to increasee the external CPU frequency > 266MHz, you might want to think about a beter one. The Artic Freezer 7 comes in at less then £20 andit's get's the temps down < 10oc on the stock cooler. :)

Adds all of £1 or so to change the cooler. I think I can just about afford it, thanks for the advice. When I was choosing the case everything about it looked more than adequate for my build, was I wrong?

Perfect spec for the price, possibly suggestion is to swap the 500aaks for a pair of 250gb 7200.10's and raid them? But only if you have backups. Not a huge fan of the case, but you might just want to have a look at the Pc-7
