Building new PC, feedback appreciated!

Well I'm bidding for the original motherboard (Asus M4A89GTD) I wanted on eBay, only has a day left so I'm hoping I can get it! Going for like £75, which would be a steal compared to the other prices.

What you guys think of the case? (Galaxy III) Looks pretty cool to me, and would save like £20-£30!

Actually I've just asked the seller to delete my bid after reading your comment Cookeh lol. Not risking it now, it was used yeah, annnnnd he OC'd it before selling it, so yeah... not worth the risk lol.

Anyway, this case I was talking about, but I'm not too sure now...

Might just stick to my Coolermaster case and buy the Asus motherboard from another shop.

Ah, that thing. It's pretty naff really, budget flashy case.

Antec 100 is ~£44 and a dozen times better.

If you really want to save the pennies to get a better motherboard, the Xigmatek Asgard is very very good for its price and has features that some cases twice it's value don't have.

the galaxy case is cheap and looks great ive bought 2 in the last week to upgrade family computers, if you get it from Cclonline you get a 450w psu with it aswell for £36 inc postage.

I bought one of those as i needed a cheap case asap, its not a bad case but its very flimsy feeling. If i was buying again id definately go for the Antec 100, such a great quality case for the price.

All true - but for £30 what else would you expect, has to be some cost cutting somewhere :p

Looks pretty good to me!

Those PSUs don't get the best reviews! I would swap it out for this XFX Pro 650W Core Edition - enough for CF later on, and pre-braided cables, not to mention being more reliable, having a higher amperage on the 12v rails, and ofc more watts :p

The Phenom II X4 955 is the same cpu - just running 200MHz slower (just move the mutliplier up by one in BIOS to get 965 speed for 955 price).

Could save a bit more dosh going for a Seagate Barracuda 1TB (faster and cheaper :D)

Random question,

Does it matter what brand I get with the 6870 graphics card? Because I've found an XFX version that costs like £40 less...

Not really, although people don't rate XFX customer services that highly. I'm sure it'll be fine if it's a good deal. Not a particularly problematic card.

I have the XFX. Runs perfectly, and is clocked to 950MHz core and 1225Mhz memory.

Nothing at all wrong with it :)
