BUILDING NEW PC - please help check everything is compatible! :)

Good system, although I'd change the RAM for some cellshock/team xtreem and the PSU for a corsair.

thanks for the quick post, i will have a look at those suggestions...i take it all my current components are compatible with each other?

Yes they are.

You will probaiblly find a cheaper 680i board than the ECS. e.g. the Asus P5N32-E SLi nForce 680i only £152.74 inc VAT

All the 680i boards aport form the Striker Extreme and the Abit IN9 32X-MAX are all Nvidia reference design.

Maybe a different PSU.

Tagan make a really good range of PSUs. I would reccomend the Tagan TG600-U25

Go for the BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC. You get a Life warranty with that card. It is also cheaper than the Leadtek and also overclocked more by BFG themselves.

As hai said I would go for some differnet better overclocking RAM.

G.Skill, Team Xtreem or CellShock would be your best choice.

if I changed my psu to "620W Corsair HX Series Modular SLi PSU, ATX, EPS 12V, whisper quiet, 5 year warranty" would that still be compatible with all the components?

Thanks

Yes that would still be compatible.

Changes are good, Corsair 620W def. the best PSU at the moment (although I am happy with my Seasonic). I would change the RAM to something with Micron chips in for overclocking (Cellshock, Team), or go cheaper if you want to leave it at stock.

Definately change that PSU, the bad reports keep coming in of them going bang. I wouldn't invest in an unreliable company. I like to go with Antec myself but others will suggest the Corsair range which are very good also :)

New sig Melbourne ;) Nice one!

Ta very much, surely what Sunday afternoons were made for! Made entirely with Paint.NET

You and the other Wise Guy's having nice sigs, my text-only one was looking a bit n00b tbh :D

Good stuff, I feel I can really rely upon Antec for power supplies never had a problem in the 5+ years I have been buying them. Corsairs seem to be good but its nice to be able to recommend something different from the mainstream of people on here just shouting out 'CORSAIR 520' everytime someone requests a PSU. I can only say they are decent from other peoples recommendation who actually have them, I'm sure half the people recommending them as excellent don't even own one!!

Looks the business, good to have a change once in a while. Looks quite similar to Photoshop that paint.net, any good?

Agreed, and there is a danger that things could get an unfairly good or bad rep that way.

I like it for the simplicity, it's got layer handling, history window, etc, like Photoshop. It's really fast as well, and you can't fault the price (i.e. free :D )
