Microsoft are bringing back their Family Pack for Windows 7 back later this year, October I believe. However, they're upgrade licences so you'd need a pre-existing OS licence to be legally licensed. They're rolling it out in all MS Markets.

Windows 7 > *.Other_Windows_OS

Seriously. It's a great OS. I've never had a single issue with it.

The biggest complaint I have with Win7 is the start menu. I just don't like it and prefer the old XP one.
I also don't like the new 'find files or folders' process.
And I miss being able to press 'Windows key, u, u' to sut the pc down.
Other than that I think Win7 just took a bit of getting used to. Now I'm happy to use Win7 as long as I can mostly avoid using the start menu, mostly.

they mostly come at night, mostly
:-)

It should probably also be mentioned (if it hasn't already) that you need Win7 64-bit to get the full 6GB of RAM available. I believe Win7 32-bit version would have the same memory restriction of 4GB (although other things use up some of the memory address allocation leaving Windows only about 3GB's worth to assign to RAM).

for me:

Windows 7 Pro 64 bit > any_other_os

I have a Mac & Linux box also, so its not just a random fanboy statement.

OSX comes close second, but for business and general productivity I prefer W7. I always have about 50 screens open and I find W7 handles this better.
