I got home last night to find a new computer in parts in a nice brown OCUK box!
Last time I built a PC was several years ago. My how things changed. I used a Thermaltake Armour Jr. case in black. Loads of room, instructions that made sense and lots of bits to help you!
Installed OD with no screw runners, HD cage just slides out!
New intel socket in a bit brutal, takes a little too much pressure to lock the new Q6600 ship in for my liking!
Also added a Zalman flower shaped fan thing. It is so big it needed a brace on the back of the motherboard! Weighs a huge amount!
I'm stunned everything is so hard wearing now.
If I'd have had to use that much force to install a fan before it would have broken the mobo in half.
5 years is clearly a long time in PC circles!
Andy
PS - Do not use wifes new dishcloths to wipe hands after using Arctic Silver grease. It does not come off- Andy still in dog house!
