ok, so sorry if this is the wrong place but is it really worth building PCs to sell.

i know a lot of people build PCs from second hand parts to sell on, ive looked on ebay and people are selling PCs with no OS for £300 plus with pretty low tech componets - all brand new - so they say.

i mean, if you wasnt a computery person who would you rather buy from - some guy on ebay or a high street retailer for around the same price,

go figure....

I don't think you could earn enough to make this your only income. I naively looked into it years ago, and with the prices of components as they are right now, you would struggle to make a profit.

You might luck out and be able to sell one or two for a profit now and again, but you would be hard pressed to make a living from it.

it would most likely be for beer tokens....

i tried this about 5 years ago from ebay......sold a few...but they were high end gaming

rigs and i made about £400 from the sale. parts cost me £2000 then and i sold for £2400.

if i thought there was still a market i would do it again in an instant as i love building rigs.

I don't believe there's a market for it.

What you'd get is people looking for an email/browsing machine on the cheap (nothing wrong with that) and wanting to pay as little as possible. So you'd be making very little on each build, and have to deal with them when they get spyware infested/random reboots etc.
