I have a problem, the 8-pin power cable (CPU) doesnt reach the slot the only way it does is the following (check pictures) and I want to ask if it is bad to attempt running it like that or should I wait for extension cable?

Also a very noob question which is the top side of the HDD with the metal or with the electronic part? :o

Thanks guys, I will try to find an extension tomorrow and if I have any more questions/problems i will write here again :)

1.Hello again, I want to ask how to connect the front panel to my motherboard I read the manual and it says PWR Ground, Reset Ground but I dont know in which direction to connect them.

2.Also I am going to try and start the PC for the first time to check if everything is working some things I am worried about is that when I was installing the heat sink it moved a bit to left and right would that be a problem?

3.Also my motherboard has 4 pin connectors for the fans but I connected the 3 pins anyway would that be fine?

Thanks, I have connected them. I forgot to ask a question about which one should I connect the HDD and DVD/CD rewriter to 6gb/s or 3gb/s? I am assuming to the Intel P67 Sata 6gb/s instead of the Marvell Sata 6gb/s

Okay, so I attempted to boot and the PC started for a few seconds then stopped and after 1-2 seconds started again. Fans are spinning the Mem_OK LED keeps lighting I pressed and hold it and it restarted and started blinking after it stopped it was still lighting red and there is no display on the monitor at all.

My spec is this:

MSI GeForce GTX 560Ti OC Twin FrozR II 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor
Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION **
Samsung P2370 23" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Glossy Black
Thermalright Venomous X Black Edition CPU Cooler
OCZ StealthXStream 2 600W Power Supply
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache
Corsair XMS3 4GB DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
Samsung SH-S223CBEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black)

I will check the ram but I think its installed correctly.

Yeah I used the standoffs and then screwed them in with the small screws because there were some other ones with bigger head that did not work very well and the motherboard seems to be fitted in the right place.

**Update**
I removed one stick of ram which was in slot DIMM_B2 and this time the Memory LED didnt stay on instead the Boot_device_Led stayed on. Any suggestions?

BTW What is plugged in at the moment is the CPU, Mobo, Graphics card, 1 stick of RAM. (I've read in other thread just to test with these components and see if it will run).

HELP! I went into BIOS and it showed 43C and started rising to 44C-45C (arent those normal) now I noticed on top of my cooler the heat pipes seem to have melted a little! What is this about im going crazy :|

Here is the photo you can see how the heatpipes are kind of chipped in when you zoom in. Also why would it do that?

I put a medium sized blob in the middle then I put the heatsink on top. I just removed it and there is thermal paste on most of the CPU surface just a bit in the corners is missing. I am going to put the stock cpu cooler.
