Hi guys, started my build earlier and have a couple of questions before I pick it up again tomorrow.

The case fan and the connector on the corsair h80i are 3 pin but the mobo has 4 pin on all the fan sockets. Searched and it said no matter they just run at full speed. However the individual fans on the cooler are 4 pin so thought maybe it would be better to plug them separately in directly to the board?

The wifi card I'm going to use from the old PC has a shorter connector and is in a shorter slot than normal. I think it will fit in one of the normal (longer) slots on the new mobo but not sure it's supposed to go in that kind?

I've installed windows on the ssd, can I just add the hdd anytime and it won't affect the boot order etc? Also what's a good guide for setting up the ssd, such as indexing that I noticed when looking for one?

Final one there was a speaker to plug into the mobo do I need to keep that in or is it just for testing?

Think that's all, been going well so far took some pics to do a thread when I'm finished.

Cheers guys

I can't answer all your questions, but this should get you started:

Nah, keep them plugged into the H80i. I had this same query about my H100.
Basically, the cooler block also contains a pump and a fan controller. It takes just the CPU temperature data off the CPU header via the 3-pin cable, but does all the 4-pin (PWM) stuff internally and decides what speed to run the fans.
Pretty nifty, actually.

It can go in, but if your mobo has multiple graphics card slots, this may affect your GPU performance (it does on mine).
I'd think there would be a couple of shorter slots on your board, though...?

Should be able to, yes. So long as you don't also have Windows installed on the HDD.
If in doubt, just nip into the BIOS and check/change things, anyway.
