This is my second PC build so i know a thing or two about PC's

This is the current specs that I have chosen,

  • Motherboard: Asus sabertooth z77 DDR3 Socket 1155
  • Ram: Corsair Vengence blue 8gb (2x4gb) @1866mhz Dual Channel
  • CPU: Intel i7 3770k (ivybridge) @3.5ghz (oem)
  • GPU: Gainward gtx 570 "goes like hell" b grade (using sli with another gtx 570)
  • case: in win dragon rider full tower case
  • SSD: OCZ Vertex 4
  • HDD: WD black 500gb 6gb/s sata 3
  • Cooling: V12 Watercooling kit 360 (can someone tell me if these parts are worth it as im new to watercooling)
  • PSU: 1000w Modular Power supply (Haven't chosen what PSU yet)

I am also wanting to watercool my GPU's so if someone could advise me on decent parts for the GPU that would be awesome.

Thanks

I would pop a post in the water cooling thread rearding your watersetup, they will be able to direct you to which parts will be best on your budget.

The spec you have put together will work fine.
PSU you will be able to add a loop and power 2x570s on 850W so a PSU like this will suit you fine: XFX 850W XXX Edition Modular

Vertex 4 SSDs are quite expensive when you look @ the Samsung and Intel models which have similar performance. & £70 for a 500GB drive is a little on the expensive side as well. You can get a 2TB drive for a little over that.

One thing you may want to ask the water cooling guys is if the Sabertooths sheild will affect the blocks on the graphics cards at all. I'd imagine you would be ok, but its better to be safe.

1) No need for 1866mhz ram, get samsung green it will overclock to 2133 easy

2) get 3770K not OEM, 2 years more warranty are worth it, especially if you overclock... but if it burns dont mentioned you did anything to it

3) Get intel SSD

4) for gaming 3570K will be fine.

Thanks for that info if your wondering why the expensive parts I am wanting a top end system that will last quite a while and be used for gaming/adobe suite i already have an 800w psu but i will upgrade to a 850w just so that i have the extra power aha.

from yours and the other posters comments I noticed that you both have mentioned the intel ssd so im guessing that these are quite popular and cheaper but still have great specs compared to the vertex 4 by any chance could you recommend a cheaper ssd which has good specs preferably intel

thanks for your comments
