Heya

So here is the idea- as small as I can get as OC as I can get for short bursts of work... 4-12h or so at 100% with breaks...

I have ordered 2x OcUK Opera Media Case - Black (with 500W PSU) for tests.
I hope it is big enough and small enough to stack on top of each other in little tower... anyway here are the parts let me know what you guys think...

Intel Core i7 3930K - I noticed there is C2 version... what is the difference? I want to OC it to 4.5+
ASRock X79 EXTREME4-M
32GB (4x8GB) Corsair DDR3 Vengeance Jet Black
120GB OCZ Agility 3
Corsair H100
300W be quiet! BN133 SFX Micro-ATX PSU with 80mm QUIET Fan 80Plus Green

The main conserns I have is... can I OC to 4.5... can this 300W be quiet PSU work ? There are 2 version of it wide and long will either of them work? Or would the standard 500W in case work just fine?

and above all what do you guys think of that micro-ich rig... any suggestion as to which cheaper/smaller motherboard get etc etc?

I think with 140mm height of the case I could get the H100 screw to wall and drill extra holes to vent...

Not sure, thanks for any comments help !

Thanks, bye.

Wow so many replies :)

I got this case so I think I will be able to stick 2x motherboard in it. 1 on bottom 1 on top. So the problem that I got left with is what PSU do I need and if I can hock up 2x motherboard + cpu to 1 PSU...

Also I'll go with external watercooling rig so yay...

If any1 know if the 300w be quiet psu can actually handle 6core OC to 4.5 ghz speak plz.

Heya

Wow forum has awaken :O I thought I was in trouble there for a min hehe... thanks guys! :)

In any case I was going with this calculator

http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine
268W for OC 6 core recommended 318W...

So a 350W be quiet! BN134 should do the trick ?

Alternatively 450W Silverstone Strider SST-ST45SF.

The idea is to get 2x PSU As they are at 65mm+/- height I can stack 2 of them on top of each other 1 for each CPU. Then I should have about half of width of case left for misc components, maybe pump+res, not sure where I can stick SSD... but they are tiny so I dont care too much about them lol.

The rig will be very basic. CPU,RAM,Motherboard,SSD as I said.

As to colling I think I will go with external water cooler and 360mm radiator... still researching. But all water pumps I want to keep inside, and external only radiator... gotta see what I have to do in terms of tubes and how long elastic I can get since the top motherboard has to come off with case awww....

The reason why I dont go with 1U racks from server grade is the price to performance range. I pay 50% more for 50% less calculation power.

Will post some pics once I get home with rough sketches...

ubersonic if you can please do so. I only used online calculators to estimate my power and so on so far...

On a second note I might use H100 2x for each CPU... I'm guessing H80 is to small 1 for each CPU ?

However this guy runs H80 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQ0nu9_ydEI and I think I could fit 2x of those inside my case :D

Heya

Thanks for reply !

Interesting well if H80 can do it then yea...

The idea will be to stick

case hole>FAN>H80>Fan>H80>Fan>case hole which is around 147MM... damn getting tight... I might get a slim version of 120mm fan so that I can stick it in case... case is only 140mm.

In any case last thing I have to worry about is PSU and the rest is just parts and moding stuff hehe

Thanks all for help !

Wow looks pretty awesome !

I guess I can stick my own CPU in it... but can it overclock ? :o

It looks like price wise is within the same price my node will cost at the end... humhhh... :)
