Your input is very much appreciated.

EVGA nForce 650i Ultra (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (122-CK-NF66-T1)

Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (WD5000AAKS)

OcUK Huntkey 500W PSU

Asus GeForce EN7600GS Silent HTD 256MB DDR2 HDTV/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail

Akasa AK-ZEN-01-BK Zen Black Case - No PSU

I've taken your basics and changed a few parts around to save a bit of cash although I've upgraded the graphics card and PSU. The CPU can still be overclocked to the same sort of speed as the E6420, although it has less L2 cache it doesn't tend to make a huge difference except in some benchmarks. :)

could get a cheaper gpu, and you could get a cheap p35 board for the same price which would give you more future proofing.

This costs a lot less and is, nonetheless, more than up to the task of running Vista, surfing the web, playing movies, etc. I have this motherboard and I think it's fantastic.
