Building VMWare Images On A Laptop

I've got a home ESXi 4 server (64bit). I've got a laptop running XP (32bit) with VMware Workstation installed. Is it possible to build 64-bit VMWare images on my laptop running CentOS 5 64bit under VMWare Workstation and then convert these to run on my ESXI server using VVCenter Converter and the like?

I think aslong as your processor is 64bit then you can get away with doing it like that..
edit: although you might have to use qemu : http://wiki.qemu.org/Main_Page
