Building your own case?

Well i thought i would give it a go, i've got a good idea about what i want and how i can do it. But i have a couple of questions first:

Is there any software i can use to make a model of it first? I've tried a few things but they don't let me put in measurements accurately enough.

I've looked around for guides on the internet but i can't seem to find any. They're all about case moding. Are there any i can use as reference or to check stuff about drive bays and whatnot?

Google sketchup is free and easy to use, and you can find templates to put into it for eg ATX motherboards, fans, HDD, optical drives etc if you have a quick google.

Meh, it's probably easier and more convenient to use a paper/cardboard model.

if you can get the metrials than yeah, can do

and who says you have to use a CAD application, you can use pencil and paper

take measurements off your existing rig.........that is if you have one!
