Has anyone ever built there own case?

Basically I've been looking around and I can't find a case that I really like so I was just wondering what kind of effort would be involved in building my own case, i've got some designs based around the TJ07 but I have no Idea what would be the best way to go about making it.

I was thinking of having the frame built by a sheet metal worker but I guess that would be rather expensive. So would it be better to buy a case which is roughly the same size as the TJ07 (in which case I'd love some example, preferebly cheap as only the frame and the side pannels would be used) or buy 2 very cheap cases and cut/weld them to the size I would need (concern here is creating structural problems or absolutly destroying it)

There's a dude on here that made his own fascias out of wood, and it looked awesome

Otherwise, in my opinion, home made cases look a bit pap. I appreciate the point is to be proud of something you've made but since i havent absolutely no talent whatsoever, i needn't worry about that ;)

Making your own case can be very rewarding, its a lot of work and sometimes a lot more than you would bargain. Itshard to get the results you hope for but after you put so much work in you tend to favour it regardles of outcome, very much a beuty is in the eye of the beholder thing lol! Here was my attempt

Have a look at a website call the best case scenario, very inspirational and a lot of great work on there. its really a labour of love and you have to be prepared to invest time and effort to get good results.
