Building your own Distro?

How would one go about this? I am not interested in having others use it, it's purely for myself. I'd like to build my own Linux O/S, tailored to my PC but have no idea of where to start.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

It's essentially a manual for building your own linux OS. I've not tried to build an LFS system myself but from what I understand it's not for the faint hearted. Still, if that's what you want then best of luck

If all you want is a system compiled on your machine for your machine, then simply use Gentoo

Gentoo is better for the purpose of machine specific install

Arch is just good for a slick custom install (trying to word it as not quite machine specific)

LFS is a beast though! Never ever gotten it to work... yet...
