Well my friend wants a rig to play flight simulatorX

his current system is a pretty much bottlenecked

3.0ghz
2gb drr ram
and a 7950gtx 1gram (quite the bottleneck)

--------------------------------------------------------------
He wishes to build a new system to play this game on high settings. From what i heard this game is a very cpu intensive.Well

Do you think that this kind of system will be abel to play flight simulatorX on highest settings? maybe at 1280x1024 res.

Core 2 Quad 2.4 overclocked to 3.0 or 3.1
4gb ram 1000mhz
8800gts or a 7950gtx
Windows vista home premium 64bit

Do you think that that spec is enough for him since he really wants to play this game at highest setting
Does he need to go for an 8800ultra? or sli? or maybe keeping the 7950 is enough?

Thnx Rycon

Its all about the overclocked quad-core TBH. Or maybe a wolfdale. As you've said, graphics card is less important than getting a good ocing CPU and RAM.

Saying that, i have no idea what level you need for "High Settings".

Q6600 or E8400 (can flight sim x use four cores?)
P35 motherboard (asus p5k-combo is a good one)
4Gb PC6400 (for Q6600) or PC8500 (for E8400 since its need higher FSB for oc)
8800GT 512Mb

should be about £450
