I'm looking for a new single built in oven but there is one snag, the depth needs to be 53cm or less due to the oven space in my old (1980s) kitchen only being able to accommodate that size.

All the cheap single built in ovens seem to range from 54.5cm to 57cm depth. Although they will slide in and function fine, they will be sticking out of the cabinet.

Anyone know where I can find on that is 53cm depth or less?

It's not as simple as max depth either, most ovens still need c25-50mm free space behind too for ventilation.

However, some of the shallow ovens aren't the full 53-55cm depth but allow for some fascia elements etc. Equally some don't and it goes the other way, needing the full 57-60cm although stated as less.

You really need to pop to Currys to measure up.

Having an oven sticking out slightly is not an issue either but you need a plinth round the frame to mount it securely.

Take the cheap Bush and live with it.

£130 ish plus suitable wood for plinth (anything really you can paint white/brown) is a lot cheaper than £2k+ for a new kitchen.

Looking at my howdens trade list and an oven housing @ cost is still going to run you more than it's worth. I.e. Buyers remorse vs 1cm jutting out.

There will still be space for ventilation at the back as there are two wooden posts at either side screwed to the wall at the back of the cabinet, if you take these out there would easily be another 1.5-2cm to play with (although you couldn't as they hold the whole floor to ceiling cabinet to the wall). Also the oven is at body level, it's not under the worktop.

The kitchen is some custom hand made out of real wood affair from the early 80s, it's not some standardised off the shelf kitchen.
