built it finally !!

hi guys.

I finally finished putting this together, and wondered what people thought of it.
Its been running for nearly a week. So far so good, well I think I might check the heat sink again, because the temps are higher than expected.
I had to cut my budget by about £100 quid so this is what i got, how much of this system would you change ?
spec:
3570k
asus-v lx ( no doubt someone will mention the d3h)
gigabyte wind force 7950
8gb vengeance low profile 1600MHz
tx650m. (I didn't actually want this one)
corsair carbide 300r
240GB Intel 330 Series ssd
Dark rock pro cooler
DVD drive Sony (cheapo)
also using a hdd from the old build, 500gb.
windows 7 oem
I have put steam on the ssd, so now shogun loads a little faster, but the best thing is, now I can play on ultra

Looks a good build.
What sort of temps are you getting, list idle and full load.

total war series is all i built mine for tbh, so good to hear it works well. let the big battles commence

Hi idleman, yer idle i'm getting highest 30c, after running ibt, its hitting 85c. That's at 4.2ghz.
I know its not too high right now but i'm not sure how far it can go.

zakblood, I'm a total war fanatic, and this is the first time iv played with all the bells and whistles on. Shogun is like a brand new game now.

I think 85c for 4.2 seems a bit high. Open a thread in the Overclockin and Cooling section, someone in there will be able you tell you what temps you should be looking at.

Well I came from a 1gb 6850, and this card blows it away (quite rightly so).
So yeah i'm really happy with it.
I did have a problem while playing gta4 but I don't think it was the cards fault.The game didn't recognise the 3gb of memory, so all the settings were at the lowest, I was like :eek:
