Built machine, now making sure its stable.

Asus maximus extreme + Q6600 + OCZ 2GB DDR3 PC3-14400C8 1800MHz Platinum (2x1GB) Dual Channel DDR3 (OCZ3P18002GK)

Ive left everything in BIOS to auto default.... and installed windows XP

Don't want to overclock anything. Just leaving it stock and stable for now...

Since am a BIOS novice..

I don't know what settings to change and what to change them to
(voltages, dram frequency, timmings etc)

Any help remember no overclocks just yet
So Q6600 stays at 2.4GHz

Basically am looking for a dummies guide to getting computer stable at stock levels for my setup
Ive read around bit its all waffle to me

If I leave BIOS all on auto (Haven't changed anything)
and the computer crashes (blue screen)
possibly to do with memory settings not sure (just a guess)..

What should i do next...? (Stock levels no overclocks)
e.g lower/up Voltages , change timings, change CPU/Dram Frequencies etc..
Thank you

No all brand new components so HD was complete empty,
Installed O/S
Then at one point, it did a quick blue screen, so couldn't read it
(how do you make it so that it stays, cant remember the setting in windows)

then i decided to lower some of the Voltages, because in the "ASUS probe" program the voltages of things like Dram, NB, SB where in the red and giving me warnings
atm with the lowered voltages there all in Green apart from temps NB, SB at about 40c RED
(don't know if i can trust this proggy)

Anyone else have stability issues with BIOS on AUTO settings...

Currenly doing memtest 1.7 passed the 2 cycles no errors.
This is with the voltages of somethings knocked down a notch
(guess i will have to do it at BIOS deflaut now)
