hi, i have built a new gaming rig. amd phenom 550, saphire pure 770 crossfire mobo. 4 gb kingston hyper x. pc8500,
(currently radeon hd 4650) 500gb sata hdd, cheapo case with 450watt psu.
i am planning to upgrade the psu as soon as funds allow. but in the mean time. i have built it up,. and when i turn it on the fans etc get ther power but the monitor doesn't recieve any signal.. i have read some where that this mobo can act dead on some psu's, this is a problem, any1 got any advice?

already had that issue, had to purchase an 8 pin adaptor.
have decided to send it back now anyway. realy isnt worth the hassle, as i dont rly need the crossfire.
i am now looking for a ddr2 board as i have bought the ram PC2-8500, any recomendations?
i want one with minimal psu compatibility issues, dont need onboard vga. budget is around £60

pref a single gpu board. and if poss using amd chipset , as im told it will help to make tuning easier

Well the 46** series use almost no power at all.
I doubt its the PSU.
Did you or can you test with any other RAM? RAm tends to break quite easy and is very delicate.

Have you got a speaker onboard at all? The number of beeps would indicate whether its the CPU, RAM or mobo.

i did have the speaker on, but ther wer no bleeps. but either way. it is boxed up ready for return now. so back to me new question, am2+ mobo for around £60.

Yes but if all you've done is check what you've said here, it could still be your memory or CPU.

Have you checked with just 1 stick of RAM in? Any other graphics cards to test?

i have tried it with different ram, and with diff gpu. but monitor stays dead. too late now, im gonna go back to basics. just been to post office to return mobo. rly hope its not me phemon at fault
