New pc:
i7 920
dx58so intel
hd 4870 pci-e 512mb
750w thoughpower PSU
1tb SATA F1 HD
6gb triple chan ram

Old PC
e7200
msi p45 neo-f
x850 xt pe pci-e
4gb geil black dragon
600w igreen coolermaster PSU

My e7200 pc fails to produce a signal on the monitor and I first found out this was due to the x850 being broken as I am unable to get a signal while using it in my i7 rig.
However I then tried using my 4870 inside my e7200 rig but that also fails to produce a signal so there is something else not working inside the e7200 rig but I cant figure out what it may be any ideas?

All cables seem to be connected correctly and everything seems to power on fine with fans turning and dvd drive opening correctly it just does not display a signal so I cant even see bios screen

I checked all the connections and everything seems fine, possible its a faulty motherboard?
The psu is 100% working as I took it from my new pc a few days ago.
I am going to take it outside the case and try build it again.

GPU

Well I just tried my old GPU in my working system and it fails to display anything.
Guess this means the GPU has died :'( ATI X850 XT PE PCI-E and only space for a 6pin connector so theres certainly enough power.

However I havent tried my new GPU in my old pc hd 4870 as it required 2 6pin connectors and my old psu 600w only has 1 6 pin connector, would it still work?

not to hand no :(

I just tried my x850 xt pe in my i7 rig and it failed to display anything on my monitor so that confirms it. I am just about to put my 4870 into my e7200 rig and make sure everything else works. The 600w psu does have 2 6pin connectors it was hidden beneath the mess of wires :D

well some bad news! The 4870 also fails to produce any display on my e7200 rig.
I then tried putting my x850 xt pe in the i7 and it is definitely broken.

So I now have something else on my e7200 rig thats producing an error. All connections are 100% so could the error be the mobo or would it not even power on?

I had tried using 1 stick and it still didnt work, however I didnt try different ports. Surely it would blue screen instead of failing to give a display on my monitor?

I am positive the 24pin and 4pin and fully inserted as I reconnecteed them to check.

It is in keep data state, should I move it to clear data state?

Thanks very much for the help I am going to diagnose further as I am posting this from my e7200 machine. I took out a stick of ram and used a different slot and it posted.

At first it would not even boot but I had changed the jumper to clear cmos after you mentioned it and thats the reason why It would not even boot.

Well I have the pc running fine with everything installed I just need to get myself a new pci-express graphics card. I dont know if the rams faulty or if it was my mobo having overclocked settings as I had it running at 3.5ghz previously.

Anyway Its working and I upped the voltage in the bios for my ram and cpu and did a prime95 test for 2 runs and everything was fine on real-temp and coretemp except core temp decides to show 140c or core1 when its idle however shows 40c when its under load so I guess thats a bug.
