Can't beleive my yorkfield has gone up £85

Is this because of the echange rate?

It's all relative mate.

Unfortunately your system isnt worth a lot more as its basically used and second hand now...however i do know what you mean.

Bad time for buying components now it seems....and ye, the exchange rate and other economic factors will be pushing prices up.

Wish I'd bought a 4870 or 4870x2 a few months ago, when we still got $2 for every £1 spent!

Seems like I'll be waiting a bit longer for my next upgrade... as I fancy a new screen, hence new Gfx card, and that'll probably need a new PSU too - cant keep squeezing this 350-watter much longer :D

To OP, nice comparison, very interesting to see! Puts me off the upgrade i was planning for Jan  especially as i was gonna give my PC to my bro so wouldnt be recouping any of the costs!

I'm delaying my new build because of this. :(
I will have to order it before Jan though as I'm without a PC right now. :(

I was going to buy before Christmas but now I'm holding off till the prices come down again. Roughly 20% more now than a few Months ago!

I should have ordered a month ago and now I'm stuck with my old PC. Unfortunately there are going to be quiet a few PC builders and component retailers that are going to go bust over the next year. Many people will not be upgrading due to the credit crunch and the pound which is in freefall. Lowering VAT is not going to help much when prices are going up the same amount each week.

It's so scary, all this credit crunch buisness. When will it all end I aint borrowed a p[enny off no debt company it's just stupid anyways. I won't be upgrading again until another 4 years anyways so don't matter to me
