After having not built a new PC for 3 years then I thought that now was the time. After some of you helped with component configuration thought I would share with you.

All the goodies came and I opened them up and I thought holy crap - things take way more room than they used to!

I built it like I used to and made a few **** ups on the way :-) eg it is not a good idea to have everything installed then try and put the Tuniq Tower in - install that one befor eyou put the mother board in and connect every piece up to it!

Incidentally I had no problem fitting the Tuniq Toer on the board or in the case so it does fit as I have had a few questions about it.

According to ABIT OC Guru the CPU hovers at about 28 to 30 when I am not doing a lot in windows and when I run 4 instances of SP2004 in stress the CPU mode for 10 mins or so it gets up to about 56c though the PWM phase temps (what are they) get to 125 to 135 and the warnign is set to 125 but when I run it in blended mode they dont get above 90 so I reckon when the CPU is working flat out with the quad core it sucks juice and creates heat for the PSU (IF I got it right - please correct me if I am wrong)

In terms of overclocking then I just can not seem to get the CPU much over 3ghx with a FSB of 300 in BIOS though using the oc guru tool in windows I got FSB to 320 ghc so a CPU of 3.2 but then I fiddled with it more and now just can not get it back that high - any hints?

I am also way out of date with memory so will ask a few other questions else where.

Only other thing to mention is the 8800 is a ridiculously tight fit against the hard disks at the end and only just fits in - god knows how I will get another one in when I upgrade - most of the wires cover the lower end of the CPU - any cable routing gurus out there want to offer some help!

Any queries then holler in this thread I will go ask some more else where.

Stuart
