Bulb confusion!

Noticed one of my sidelights was out last night so had a scan on the net and now I'm totally baffled. HID, blue, Super Osram power....eekk!

It's a Vento (mk3 golf)

Can someone suggest some decent bright bulbs for me, and while you're at it some main beam too and i'll swap them all while im in there.

I'm just after as bright and as clean light as possible -whethere its got a blue tint or not, im really not fussed.

Also, the headlights have plastic lens covers, covering the glass. surely those arent needed? dont they diffuse the light and weaken it?

Y'know, I have no idea why I call them sidelights. I think my dad used to call them sidelights.

Oh, and the cars not worth 150, let alone the lights mate! hahaha £20 from the scrappies.

So they don't affect the beam then? Grotty scratched plastic.

why are there "sidelight" bulbs for a golf mk 3 when i google them?

surely they are sidelights as they sit along side the main beam bulb?

yeah.... it was one of the sidelight bulbs that had gone!

my error was looking at the myriad of bulbs and being baffled by all these hi power jobbies when in fact the bulb is just a bog standard affair :\ sorry if my lack of knowledge confused you all. now replaced and all working!
