Bulgaria

I might be going to Bulgaria for 2 weeks in the summer as my parents are looking to buy an apartment or 2 over there instead of carrying on with their pensions as they will end up getting more back renting the apartments out than keeping with the pensions. Has anyone from here been there as I have no idea what to expect when I go over, except for the fact that food and alcohol is cheap and the women are quite tasty

The apartments are only for renting out to be used at holiday villas for other people, they aren't going to retire there, afaik they'll be going America for that.

I'm interested in the cheap food, cheap beer and hopefully cheap ladies

Well it will be the Black Sea area where they are buying the apartments and I've heard that it's a bit nicer there, so hopefully so should have a good laugh. I'm just thinking of the cheap knock offs I can buy. Plus if anything goes wrong I know a couple of Bulgarians so they may be able to help me out

EDIT:

Surely you must know somebody over there before you jump in and buy a property. That would be my advise. You don't want to get stitched up, do you? Otherwaise I reckon Bulgaria is not a half bad as everyone says. There are a lot of british people too.
You'll be surprised by the girls over there IMHO

My parents are going over during Easter to have a look around and see for themselves rather than taking the chance and buying blindly.

If you can compile a list of questions i can email one of my workmates in Sofia and he speaks quite passable english and i'll get you the answers.

Thank for the offer dude but we already have that covered . Our main supplier in Italy has distributors all over the world and 1 of them happens to be in Bulgaria so while in Italy last weekend for a works conference we had a chat with them and are talking to them over email every so often.
